The Japanese language or Nippongo is, like all other foreign languages, may be hard to learn for anyone who is just starting. However, when you are resolved in acquiring it, using the most accurate techniques, you may just learn it fast enough. Just like most Asian languages, when you wish to learn the Japanese language, you should also be able to read and write it too. Finding Japanese words written in the English alphabet is rare. There are two forms of writing in Japanese. One is Hiragana and the other is Katakana. In both, each character has a unique sound. There is actually a third one, Kanji. However, it has characters imported from Chinese and you probably are not interested in learning Japanese with too many Chinese embellishments.

Japanese is a syllabic language. You do not have to worry about pronunciations as much as you do with French or German. What is important is you grasp its vocabulary and actually listen to Japanese spoken repeatedly. By doing so, you will not only polish your pronunciation of every Japanese word but also get the correct intonation and accent. If you do not, you may just baffle native Japanese with misplaced stresses. You will only end up doing more body language or facial contortions to express your point.

If you want to learn how to write and read in Japanese quickly, then read anything written in Japanese. Newspapers, books, ”made in Japan” electronic device manuals, and even ‘manga’, the Japanese comic book, will do. However, if you want to learn the language fast then watch movies like those good ones by Kurosawa, listen to Japanese music, or even amuse yourself with those ”anime” and weird reality shows from Tokyo. You should barrage your ears with everything Japanese to get use to the language itself.

A guaranteed way to learn the Japanese language fast is to get you an audio book like those from the Talking Book Store, which has a wide array of Pimsleur language learning books. Listening to an audio book can be done wherever you are at whatever time you want. With an audio player at home, you can do your learning at home without the hassle of going to a formal class. With a portable audio player, such as iPods, you can even learn Japanese while working outdoors or simply relaxing on the beach. Audio books on the language will certainly make learning Japanese fast, enjoyable, and efficient for you.
